SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
PROCEDURES

POSSIBLE CAUSE OF TROUBLE CHECK PROCEDURES CORRECTIVE ACTION
A. Spray pattern not to specification Remove both nozzle and pump and disassemble Remove any debris found
Replace any leaking gaskets
B. Unit does not start Determine if voltage is present and is correct.  Voltage must be within +/- 10% of rated voltage Supply correct power
C. Fuses blow or circuit breaker trips at consumer fuse box/circuit breaker panel or fountain control panel (Not the fountain GFCI) Check for the proper size fuse or circuit breaker recommended for the equipment supplied Provide the proper size fuse or circuit breaker
D. Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) trips or will not reset Disconnect outgoing power to the fountain (at the fountain terminal control panel strip) and apply power,  If GFCI, energizes and stays energized, it is OK Replace GFCI, consult the factory
E. Ground fault circuit interrupter trips (GFCI tests OK) (single phase only) Check power cord for nicks or cuts in fountain power lead cables Replace power cable if leads are damaged
Check motor lead for nicks or cuts (splice box to motor) Replace the motor lead
Verify the GFCI is not sensing outside interference or noise (single phase) Correct outside interference
Check motor for shorts Replace motor
If purchased, bypass the lighting transformer and connect the power cord directly to the unit junction box Replace lighting photo cell
F. Motor runs, however, fuses blow or circuit breaker trips (not the control panel GFCI) Check for proper voltage using a volt meter.  Voltage must be within +/- 10% of the rated voltage Correct voltage
Check that the amperage does not exceed the maximum rating of the motor Remove any foreign debris from pump chamber or nozzle area
Check the motor shaft bearing and propeller/impeller (horizontally) for wear If movement is determined, replace the motor
G. Unit operates but lights do not come on Check photo cell for operation use (tape over photo eye for test) Replace photo cell module
Check light wiring for cuts Replace wire as needed
Check that sealed beams are OK Replace seal beam as needed
H. Lights operate, motor runs, but no spray Check propeller/impeller for spline wear Replace propeller/impeller
