INTERRUPTER (ELCI) ELCI devices are of a "solid state design" and are therefore not repairable. To determine if an ELCI is in fact defective is a limited procedure. Complete the following steps for assessment. 1. Disconnect the electrical power to the control panel. Be certain that accidental application of the electrical power CANNOT occur. 2. Remove the power cable that supplies power to the fountain. Apply the electrical power to the control box and push the reset button on the ELCI to determine if the ELCI will stay "set". The indicator window will become green and remain a green color if the ELCI is operating correctly. If the ELCI does not "set", replace the ELCI. 3. Disconnect the electrical power once again and reattach the fountain wire placing them in the exact order from which they were removed. i.e., red wire to red terminal, black wire to black terminal, etc. TIME CLOCK OPERATION CHECK The time clock operates "ON" or "OFF" in 15 minutes increments. The time clock operation is best determined by setting the "ON" trip operation of the time clock for a "15 minute" "ON" setting. 1. Slide the black colored trippers outward from the center of the clock dial for "OFF" operation. There should be NO visible time clock rim. 2. Slide one (1) timer tripper in toward the center of the clock dial and manually rotate the clock dial until the depressed tripper aligns with the white pointer at the top of the clock dial. The aerator or fountain should be operating once the tripper trips the clock switch. 3. Allow the aerator or fountain to operate for 15 minutes at which time the clock should rotate and shut down the fountain indicating an operating time clock and switch. If the time clock fails to operate replace the time clock. FRANKLIN ELECTRIC CONTROL BOX The control box used on this fountain is made expressly for use with the Franklin Electric motor supplied. No other electrical controls are to be used with this device. Only Franklin Electric control boxes equal to the motor horsepower may be used: i.e., one (1) horsepower motor with a one (1) horsepower control box. Problems within the Franklin Electric control box are extremely rare. However, if problems occur within the control box it is commonly due to an electrical power surge. As a result, it is recommended to replace the control box since unforeseen damage to either the relay or capacitors may have occurred. |
